I am an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, at the University of Queensland, Australia. I am also the Program Convenor of Masters of Interaction Design. I was an ARC DECRA fellow from 2018 to 2022.

I lead the Compassion Lab research group. Within the fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer-Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW), my research focuses on ‘Designing for Underserved Communities’. I have ongoing projects associated with economically struggling older adults, women in crisis situations, refugees and asylum seekers, and people from the developing nations.

I have a PhD in HCI from University of Twente, the Netherlands; a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Lancaster University, UK; and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Gujarat University, India.
